This personal project explores the creation of a fully modular hospital corridor environment built in Unreal Engine 4.27.
I designed and developed a 4x4m grid-based modular kit, enabling efficient assembly of multiple interior layouts. The system combines fully modular pieces with larger unique collapsed structures to balance flexibility, visual interest, and optimized draw calls.
All assets were modeled, textured, and lit by me. Gameplay programming was handled separately.
Every module was precisely aligned to grid standards, ensuring clean snapping and production-ready scalability. Particular attention was given to normal map quality and edge treatment — using bevels and baked details to soften 90-degree transitions where appropriate.
Materials were developed with consistent PBR standards to achieve cohesive lighting response across the environment. Global Illumination was baked into lightmaps, and texture density was standardized at 2048px per 4 meters for consistent Texel resolution.
